Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Driver

Full-featured software for the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Driver Printer Series includes everything you need to set up and use your Epson printer.

The Printer is a borderless super-tabloid AIO with a maximum paper size of 13 by 19 inches. Up to tabloid size may be scanned, copied, and faxed (11 by 17 inches).

Modern PrecisionCore 2S print heads, which are available in cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, are fully compatible with the Epson WorkForce WF-7710, allowing for optimal performance.

Through the use of drop-on-demand thermal inkjet printing, this technique may also provide a maximum resolution of 4800 x 2400 dpi. The print speed meets all international and European requirements. To provide just one example, the printing speed of a black and white document is 18 pages per minute (ppm).

The Brother model can only handle up to tabloid size, so if you need super-tabloid-sized documents printed, you might look at the WF-7710. Otherwise, the Epson is an outstanding printer that confronts fierce competition.

Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Review

The WF-7710 ($1,246.59 on Amazon)(Opens in a new window) has a 250-sheet paper tray on the front and an overwrite slot on the rear, for a total of 251 sheets of paper capacity. It measures 13.4 by 22.3 by 32.2 inches (HWD) and weighs 40.8 pounds. Similar to the WorkForce WF-7720, however without the latter’s second 250-sheet paper tray.

Epson’s wide-format printers have a leg up on the competition since they can print at a bigger 13-by-19-inch size than their competitors can. Your spreadsheets and advertisements will benefit greatly from the additional space those inches give.

Since the screen is now larger, it is much easier to see, and the whole control panel has a sleeker, more modern appearance.

Making Connections

The WF-7710 has practically all of the available connection options, including 10/100bps Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, connecting to a single PC via USB, and near-field, much like its more costly two-drawer sister.

also known as NFC. Connecting a printer to a mobile device without joining a local network is possible using peer-to-peer networking technologies like Wi-Fi Direct and NFC.

Built-in support for a number of third-party mobile solutions, such as Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print, is available in addition to the Epson Connect mobile applications Email Print, Epson Remote Print, Epson iPrint, and Epson Cloud Print. In addition, the dashboard’s iPrint and workflow profiles provide connections to a number of additional cloud services.

A USB port is positioned on the right front of the chassis, close to the paper tray, so you may print from and scan to a USB flash drive if none of the aforementioned alternatives suit your needs.

Performance Epson WorkForce WF-7710

Epson claims that the WF-7710 can print up to 18 monochrome pages per minute (ppm) and 10 color pages per minute (ppm), which is on pace with many of its rivals; nonetheless, our unit testing had some problems producing such documents.

I put it through its paces over Ethernet on a PC running Windows 10 Professional and our regular Intel Core i5 testbed. For example, it prints at 14.7 pages per minute (ppm) when given a basic 12-page monochrome Microsoft Word document to print. This is 3.3 ppm slower than its rating.

Including the score from printing a variety of colorful PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint business documents and photographs, the Epson WF-7710’s combined score dropped to 7.2ppm, which is less than half as fast as printer was before.

That is in line with my expectations for AIO inkjets in general. For instance, the WF-7720 and HP 7720 scored similarly, whereas the HP 7740 was 2.5ppm quicker. On the other side, the Brother MFC-J6935DW outperforms the WF-7710 by about 5ppm.

Last but not least, I put two of our 4-by-6-inch images through the WF-7710’s paces to see how quickly it can print them, taking careful notes along the way.

While the WF-7720 completed our test snapshot in 25 seconds, the WF-7710 took 29 seconds. When compared to the HP 7720 and HP 7740, the Brother MFC-J6935DW is much quicker at 23 seconds.

Epson WorkForce WF-7710 Overall Handsome Output

I have no major concerns regarding the Epson WF-7710’s output, with the exception of a few small issues with some of the Excel test charts and PowerPoint slides we produced.

Common serif and sans-serif fonts appear wonderful on many of the sample text pages I print, with well formed characters at sizes 6 points and more.

In our testing, we found that higher headline sizes, as well as certain ornate typography, printed above par. The WF-7710 is an excellent choice for printing documents that are largely text in a professional environment.

The majority of the corporate visuals are likewise well-designed. Small bands appeared on darker backgrounds and gradients, and there was some deterioration from lighter to darker colors, but it wasn’t bad enough to have me reject the whole document.

Even when printing at the maximum settings on premium glossy paper, several of our test photographs of the WF-7710 seemed a touch dull and faded. Overall, the photo quality is fair, with fine detail and exact colors. The folks at Epson sent me. There is no problem with the pictures per se.

As a result of stiff competition, the price of ink per page for most AIOs has dropped. The WF-7710 is not one of them, unfortunately.

To print one black and white page costs 3.2 cents, whereas a color page costs 11.4 cents when using the highest capacity ink cartridge available from a given manufacturer. This has the greatest operating costs of the wide-format printers considered here (tied with its sibling, the WF-7720). Epson.
